Government Jobs in Haryana 2026
Haryana has one of the most active state government recruitment ecosystems in North India, driven by the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) and Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC). HPSC conducts recruitment for posts such as HCS (Haryana Civil Service), DSP, Medical Officer, Assistant Professor, and other Group A and B gazetted positions. HSSC recruits for Group C posts including Clerk, Patwari, Police Constable, Canal Patwari, and various departmental posts. Haryana CET (Common Eligibility Test) introduced in recent years is now the mandatory gateway for Group C and D recruitment in the state.
Haryana Police Recruitment Board manages Constable GD and Sub-Inspector recruitment, while the Health Department recruits Staff Nurses, ANM, and Pharmacists through separate notifications. The education sector sees significant recruitment through HPSC for TGT/PGT (Group II) and PGT (Group I) posts. Haryana government employees enjoy some of the best salary packages among state government employees in India, along with benefits including accommodation (for certain posts), medical under CGHS-equivalent scheme, and group insurance.
Haryana's geographic proximity to Delhi makes it an attractive location for candidates who also want to target central government jobs — SSC, Railway (NR Delhi Zone), and defence sector recruit extensively in Haryana. The state government has also launched Saksham Yuva Yojana providing stipend to unemployed graduates while they prepare for government jobs. Candidates must have Haryana domicile for state-level posts, and many posts additionally require proficiency in Hindi and knowledge of Haryanvi dialect.
