The largest recruiters for graduates are SSC (CGL, CHSL, CPO), UPSC (Civil Services, CDS, CAPF), IBPS and SBI (PO, Clerk, SO), and state PSCs (PCS, Group B exams). SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level) is the most popular exam for graduates, filling posts like Assistant Section Officer in Central Ministries, Inspector of Income Tax, Inspector (Central Excise), Junior Statistical Officer, Sub-Inspector in CBI, and Tax Assistant across dozens of central organisations.
UPSC Civil Services (IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS) requires any graduation degree and is the most prestigious government recruitment. SSC CPO (Central Police Organisations) recruits Sub-Inspector in CISF, BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, and Delhi Police from graduates. IBPS PO and SBI PO fill bank probationary officer posts (starting salary ₹52,000+/month) which are highly sought-after white-collar positions with strong career progression. IBPS PO in-hand salary is approximately ₹52,000–60,000/month. UPSC IAS/IPS officers (IAS pay scale ₹56,100–2,25,000/month) top the chart with the most prestigious career path. Graduates should simultaneously prepare for SSC CGL, IBPS PO, State PSC, and UPSC Prelims given their wide eligibility scope — each has a different syllabus focus but shares overlap in Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, and General Awareness.
