Telangana, India's youngest state (formed 2014), has rapidly built a strong government recruitment framework. The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) is the apex recruiter for Group I, Group II, Group III, and Group IV posts. Group I officers (equivalent to RAS/KPSC-A) include posts like Deputy Collector, DSP, and Commercial Tax Officer. Group II recruitment covers posts like Municipal Commissioner, Mandal Parishad Development Officer, and Tahsildar. Group IV includes Typist, Junior Accountant, and Office Subordinate posts in state departments.

Telangana Public Service Commission has modernised its exam pattern using Computer Based Test (CBT) for objective rounds and descriptive tests for higher groups. The state has also started TSLPRB (Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board) for police constable and SI recruitment. Hyderabad, as a major IT and PSU hub, sees recruitment by DRDO, DRD&TA, ECIL, HAL, BDL, NIN, and National Institute of Nutrition. Central government staff from SSC Southern Region, Income Tax, Railways (SCR Zone), and Banking (IBPS/SBI) are also recruited in large numbers in Telangana.

Telangana government employees receive pay under the 7th Pay Commission (state revised scale), which was implemented in 2018. The Telangana State Government Employees Medical Aid Fund provides medical support. Candidates for state posts must have Telangana domicile, and many posts require Telugu language proficiency tested through a written component. All TSPSC applications are online at tspsc.gov.in, and candidates must submit caste and income certificates for reserved categories.
