Start Here: Most Of What Ranks For This Search Is Not Real

Search this phrase and you will get private sales jobs relabelled as "government vertical", agency proctor roles, and lists of thousands of vacancies that quietly require an exam three clicks later. Some of it is careless. Some of it is deliberate, and the people it targets are the ones who can least afford to lose an application fee.

So the useful version of this page is a short list rather than a long one. Genuine no-exam government recruitment in Delhi exists. It is narrower than advertised, it pays less than exam-based entry in most cases, and it is worth knowing about precisely because so few people describe it accurately.

The Routes That Are Actually Real

1. India Post Gramin Dak Sevak — The Best Of Them

GDS is the largest genuine no-exam recruitment in the country. There is no written test and no interview. Selection runs purely on Class 10 marks through a computer-generated merit list calculated to four decimal places. The most recent cycle carried 28,636 vacancies across 23 postal circles.

What that means practically: your Class 10 marksheet, which you cannot change, is your entire application. If you scored well in Class 10, this is the single highest-probability government job available to you anywhere in India. If you scored poorly, no amount of preparation will move you, and your time is better spent on an exam-based route where effort still counts.

Roles are Branch Postmaster and Assistant Branch Postmaster. Pay is on the TRCA scale rather than the 7th CPC matrix — realistically ₹10,000 to ₹14,500 a month depending on role and hours. That gap is the honest trade-off for skipping the exam.

2. Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships under the Apprentices Act are advertised by DMRC, DRDO, NTPC, ONGC, Delhi Metro contractors, railway units and most PSU offices in Delhi. Selection is usually on qualifying marks, sometimes with a document round, and only occasionally with a test.

Be clear about what an apprenticeship is. It is a fixed-term training engagement paying a stipend, typically ₹9,000 to ₹15,000 a month, and it does not convert to a permanent post automatically. Anyone implying otherwise is selling something. What it does give you is a stipend while you prepare, a certificate that carries weight in later technical recruitment, and government workplace experience.

3. Walk-In Interviews For Medical And Contractual Posts

Delhi's government hospitals run these continuously. Junior Resident, Senior Resident, Staff Nurse on contract, consultants, lab technicians and project staff at AIIMS, Lok Nayak, GTB, Safdarjung, RML and the NHM district offices are frequently filled by walk-in interview with no written stage.

These are contractual or ad-hoc, usually renewed annually, and they do not carry pension or permanent status. For a medical or nursing graduate they are the fastest route into government service, and many people use them as a bridge while attempting permanent recruitment.

4. Sports And Cultural Quota

Delhi Police, the railways, and several PSUs recruit against sports quota with relaxed or waived written requirements for candidates with representation at state level and above. Documentation requirements are strict and the certificates must come from recognised federations. Small in volume, entirely real.

5. Compassionate Appointment

Available to a dependent of a government employee who died in service or was medically invalidated. There is no exam. Rules are department-specific and the process is slow, but it exists and is under-communicated to the families who qualify.

6. The Delhi Employment Exchange

The Employment Department of the Government of NCT of Delhi runs an online employment portal where jobseekers register and employers post vacancies, including for skilled and semi-skilled work. It ranks first on this search and almost nobody explains it.

Set expectations correctly: registration does not get you a government job. The exchange is mostly a channel for contractual, skilled trade and private sector postings, and departments are no longer obliged to recruit through it. It costs nothing to register and it occasionally surfaces something useful. Treat it as a supplementary channel, not a strategy.

What "No Exam" Usually Costs You

Every route above trades something away, and it is better to know which in advance.

GDS pays roughly a third of what a Delhi Police constable earns. Walk-in medical posts are contractual with no pension and annual renewal. Apprenticeships end. Sports and compassionate routes depend on circumstances you either have or do not.

An exam is not an obstacle placed in your way arbitrarily. It is the mechanism through which a person with no connections and no advantages gets a permanent Pay Level 3 post with NPS, CGHS and 30% HRA in Delhi. If you are eligible for exam-based recruitment and have time to prepare, that is almost always the better use of the same year. The no-exam routes are best treated as something you do alongside preparation, not instead of it.

How To Identify A Fraud

Four rules will keep you out of nearly all of it.

No government recruiter charges money for a job. Application fees are paid to the recruiting body through its official portal and are published in the notification. Any payment to an individual, an agent, a consultancy or a WhatsApp contact is fraud, without exception.

Every real vacancy has a notification PDF on a gov.in or nic.in domain. If you cannot find that document, the vacancy does not exist. Not "might not" — does not. Every listing on this site links to its source PDF for this reason.

Nobody calls you about a government job. Recruitment is not conducted by phone. A call or message offering a post, requesting documents, or asking for a "processing fee" is a scam regardless of how official the caller sounds.

Urgency is the tell. "Only 2 seats left", "apply in 24 hours", "direct joining" — real recruitment runs on published windows of two to four weeks and does not pressure anyone.

If you have already paid someone, report it to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal at cybercrime.gov.in and to your bank immediately. Recovery is more likely in the first 24 hours than at any point after.

What To Do This Week

  1. Check whether the current India Post GDS cycle is open. If your Class 10 percentage is above roughly 80%, this deserves your attention before anything else on the page.
  2. Register on the Delhi employment portal. It is free and takes fifteen minutes.
  3. If you have a medical, nursing or paramedical qualification, check the walk-in listings at Delhi government hospitals weekly. They move fast and are not always advertised widely.
  4. Start preparing for an exam-based route in parallel. SSC CHSL for 12th pass, SSC CGL for graduates, Delhi Police Constable if you are under 25.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which government job has no exam?

India Post Gramin Dak Sevak is the largest. Selection is purely on Class 10 marks through a computer-generated merit list, with no written test and no interview. Apprenticeships, walk-in interviews for contractual medical posts, sports quota recruitment and compassionate appointment also skip the written stage.

Are there government jobs in Delhi without an exam for 12th pass?

Yes, though fewer than advertised. India Post GDS needs only Class 10. Apprenticeships at DMRC, DRDO and PSU offices in Delhi accept 12th pass for several trades. Most permanent Delhi government posts for 12th pass candidates — LDC, Data Entry Operator, Delhi Police Constable — do require a written exam.

Is India Post GDS really without any exam?

Yes. The merit list is generated from Class 10 marks calculated to four decimal places. Shortlisted candidates go directly to document verification and then receive a provisional engagement letter. There is no written paper and no interview at any stage.

How much do no-exam government jobs pay?

Less than exam-based entry, generally. GDS pays roughly ₹10,000–14,500 a month on the TRCA scale. Apprenticeship stipends run ₹9,000–15,000. By comparison, a Delhi Police Constable takes home around ₹38,000–40,000 with pension and medical coverage. The pay gap is the trade-off for skipping the exam.

Does registering at the Delhi employment exchange get me a government job?

No. The Delhi Employment Portal is a listing channel, mostly for contractual, skilled trade and private vacancies. Departments are not obliged to recruit through it. Registration is free and worth doing as a supplementary channel, but it is not a route to permanent government service on its own.

Do apprenticeships convert into permanent government jobs?

Not automatically, and anyone claiming otherwise is misleading you. An apprenticeship is a fixed-term training engagement with a stipend. It gives you a recognised certificate, government workplace experience and income while you prepare, but conversion to a permanent post requires clearing the regular recruitment process.

Someone is offering me a government job for a fee. Is it genuine?

No. No government recruiter charges money for a job. Application fees are paid only to the recruiting body through its official portal and are stated in the notification. Any payment to an individual, agent or consultancy is fraud. If you have already paid, report it at cybercrime.gov.in and to your bank immediately.

Which government job is easiest to join in Delhi?

By probability rather than prestige: India Post GDS if your Class 10 marks are strong, since there is no exam to fail. Among exam-based routes, Delhi Police Constable has the largest vacancy volume, and for women 33% of those posts are reserved, which lowers the effective cut-off considerably.
