RRB NTPC Undergraduate is open to any Indian citizen who has cleared Class 12 (10+2) examination. Diploma holders and graduates cannot apply for these posts, the qualification ceiling is intentionally Class 12 to distinguish NTPC Undergraduate from other RRB graduate recruitment. The four post variants have identical age and qualification criteria but differ in duties, posting locations, and pay level.

• Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and other allowances: In addition to basic pay; varies by posting city and grade.

All four posts are regular central government salaried positions under the Central Government Employee Provident Fund (now National Pension Scheme) and will fall under the 7th Central Pay Commission matrix once finalised. The in-hand salary figures above assume NPS deduction at approximately 10% and exclude DA, HRA, and other allowances. Your actual monthly take-home will be higher by ₹3,000–₹6,000 depending on posting location and allowance eligibility. • Photograph size or format wrong: A photo larger than 100 KB or smaller than 50 KB, or not in JPG/PNG, will not upload. Use the image resizer tool before upload. Ensure 3.5×4.5 cm (600×750 pixels) and white background, coloured or tilted photos lead to rejection during document verification.
• Name mismatch between form and certificates: If you write "Raj Kumar" in the form but your Class 12 certificate shows "Rajkumar" (one word) or "R. Kumar," document verification will fail. Exactly replicate your Class 12 certificate name, including middle names and spelling.
• Incorrect date of birth: A one-digit error (e.g., 1995 vs 1994) will disqualify you if it pushes you outside the age band. Cross-check against your Class 12 marksheet and Aadhaar card. The age limit is strictly enforced as on the application closing date (13 November 2026).
• Wrong category claim without proof: If you claim OBC but do not have an OBC certificate in the prescribed format from your state, or if your SC certificate is from the wrong state when you now reside elsewhere, document verification will reject you. Ensure your certificate is issued by a competent authority for your native state and is not older than required (usually 5 years for OBC).
• Incomplete education details: Leaving the "Class 12 passing year" or "Board" field blank or entering an incorrect year will cause rejection. The portal will cross-check against CBSE/State Board databases. Fill both fields accurately.
• Missing documents at verification stage: Although you apply online, you must bring original Class 12 certificate, Aadhaar card, caste certificate (if claiming relaxation), and identity proof to the document verification centre. Once you clear both CBT rounds and are placed in the merit list, the RRB will issue a notification to attend document verification and medical examination at your designated RRB zone's office. This typically occurs 30–45 days after Tier 2 results are announced.
