This Systems Engineer (ITS) position is open to Indian citizens aged 21–30 years with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from recognised institutions. Your engineering background should be in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics and Communications, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a combination of these branches.

If you belong to SC/ST categories, you can apply up to age 35 years. OBC candidates can apply up to age 33 years. Persons with Disabilities (PwD) receive additional relaxation: PwD candidates from General category up to 31 years, PwD-OBC up to 36 years, and PwD-SC/ST up to 40 years. Ex-servicemen are eligible for relaxation equal to their period of military service plus 3 years.

You must be willing to work on a contract basis and possess strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems management, and highway-related technology solutions.

The position is offered under E-2 Grade with a contract-based appointment. IHMCL is a Government of India enterprise managing national highways infrastructure. As a Systems Engineer, you will work on critical IT infrastructure supporting India's highway management ecosystem, providing exposure to large-scale systems, national-level projects, and modern IT technologies. Stage 1: Merit-Based Selection

Stage 2: Technical Interview
Shortlisted candidates will face a technical interview conducted by IHMCL's HR and technical team. Stage 3: HR Round

As a Systems Engineer specialising in Information Technology Systems (ITS), you will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and maintaining IHMCL's IT infrastructure. This includes servers, networks, databases, security systems, and highway-related applications that track traffic, toll operations, incident management, and user services.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Setting up, configuring, and managing computer systems and network infrastructure
• Monitoring system performance, identifying bottlenecks, and optimising IT operations
• Troubleshooting hardware and software issues, providing technical support to users
• Implementing IT security protocols and ensuring data protection compliance
• Collaborating with vendors and IT teams to upgrade systems and manage IT projects
• Documenting system configurations, maintenance logs, and technical procedures
• Supporting highway-specific applications such as toll collection, traffic management, and customer information systems

You will work in a technical team environment, reporting to senior IT management. The role demands strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines. Familiarity with Linux/Windows systems, networking protocols, databases, and scripting will be advantageous. As highways operate 24/7, you may be required to participate in on-call support schedules during critical operations.

Age Limit: 21–30 years for General category candidates. SC/ST candidates can apply up to 35 years. OBC candidates up to 33 years. PwD candidates receive an additional 10–15 years relaxation depending on category.

Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (4 years full-time) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics and Communications, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or any recognised combination of these branches. The degree must be from a UGC-recognised university or institution approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
