About Manipur Government Jobs 2026
Manipur's state government recruitment is conducted by the Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) and the Manipur Staff Selection Commission (ManSSC). MPSC conducts the Manipur Civil Services (MCS) combined exam for posts including MCS/IPS Equivalent State Services Officer, and various Group A and B departmental posts in education, health, forest, and finance. MPSC also recruits for Medical Officers, Junior Engineer, Assistant Engineer, and Lecturer posts in Government Colleges. The commission serves all 16 districts of Manipur and provides significant employment in both valley and hill districts.
ManSSC handles Group C and D recruitment for posts including Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Assistant, Peon, and Multi-Tasking Staff across Manipur state departments. Manipur Police Recruitment Board recruits Constables and Sub-Inspectors through periodic drives. The Department of Education and the Board of Secondary Education Manipur manage teacher recruitment through TET-based selection for primary and secondary schools. Northeast Frontier Railway and central paramilitary forces including CRPF, Assam Rifles (headquartered in Shillong but operating in Manipur), and BSF also offer employment to Manipur residents.
Manipur government employees receive salary under the Manipur Pay Rules aligned with 7th Pay Commission recommendations. ST candidates receive significant reservation benefits — over 34% of seats are reserved for Hill Tribes in most state recruitment. Manipuri (Meitei) is the official state language and is tested in state-level exams; however, many hill district posts recognise tribal languages. Manipur domicile is required for state-level jobs. Candidates with Inner Line Permit (ILP) compliant status can apply for state posts. Applications are submitted through MPSC at mpscmanipur.gov.in.
