Non-ITI candidates must have completed 10th standard or its equivalent to be eligible for Non-ITI Trade Apprentice posts (Fitter, Turner, Machinist, MMTM). This track is open to school-leavers aged 15–24 and requires no prior technical qualification or vocational training. Ex-ITI candidates must hold a valid ITI diploma in the specific trade they are applying for (Fitter, Turner, Machinist, Electrician, Electronics, or Welder G&E). • Non-ITI Apprentices (Fitter, Turner, Machinist, MMTM): ₹12,600 per month (consolidated stipend during apprenticeship).
• Ex-ITI Apprentices (Fitter, Turner, Machinist, Electrician, Electronics, Welder G&E): ₹16,200 per month (consolidated stipend during apprenticeship).
• Apprenticeship period is typically 12 months; upon completion, selected candidates may be considered for permanent or semi-permanent employment based on performance and organizational requirements.

The monthly stipend of ₹12,600–₹16,200 is paid directly during your apprenticeship tenure and is taxable income. After deductions for income tax (if applicable, which is minimal at this pay level) and statutory contributions, your in-hand amount will be approximately 90–95% of the gross stipend. Upon successful completion of apprenticeship and permanent/semi-permanent absorption into AVNL MTPF, your salary will transition to the standard government employee pay scale (Pay Level 2–3 range, typically ₹21,000–₹28,000 basic plus allowances). Career progression follows AVNL's promotion policy; skilled tradespeople typically advance to Senior Operator or Supervisor roles within 3–5 years of service.

• Arriving late or on the wrong date: Walk-in recruitment is time-sensitive. Arriving after the cut-off time or on a day other than the notified date will result in automatic rejection. Verify the date and time from the official notification multiple times.
• Missing original documents: Bringing only photocopies or incomplete sets of certificates will lead to immediate disqualification. Original 10th certificate, ITI diploma, and identity proof must be produced for verification.
• Submitting attested copies not certified by a gazetted officer or notary: Photocopies must be attested by a Class 1 or Class 2 gazetted officer or a notary public. Self-attested or school-attested copies are not accepted.
• Incorrect or mismatched caste certificate format: If claiming SC/ST/OBC relaxation, your caste certificate must be issued by the competent authority in your district and must explicitly state your category. Outdated or state-specific formats may not be recognised.
• Passport photo not meeting specifications: Photos must be recent (within 6 months), colour, white background, 35mm × 45mm, with clear face visibility. Digital manipulation or old photos lead to rejection.
• Claiming incorrect trade or ITI qualification: Apply only for the trade that matches your ITI diploma (if Ex-ITI). Applying for a trade outside your qualification will result in rejection during document verification.

Once your name appears in the final merit list, you will receive a selection letter (via post or email) with joining instructions. You must report to AVNL MTPF at the specified date and time with all original documents, two sets of attested photocopies, passport-size photographs, and a valid photo ID. Medical examination (if not already conducted) is finalised, and you are issued an apprenticeship agreement document which you must read carefully and sign. This agreement specifies your stipend, apprenticeship period (typically 12 months), working hours, leave policy, and conduct expectations.

During apprenticeship, you work full-time on the factory floor, learning hands-on skills in your designated trade under the supervision of senior technicians and supervisors. You are required to attend formal training sessions, complete assigned tasks, and maintain attendance. Upon completion of 12 months and successful performance evaluation, your case is forwarded for permanent or semi-permanent employment consideration. The entire process from final selection to joining typically takes 2–4 weeks; from joining to apprenticeship completion is 12 months; and from completion to absorption (if approved) is a further 1–2 months. Total time to permanent employment can be 13–15 months from the walk-in date.

Trade Apprentices at AVNL MTPF work on the factory floor, operating and maintaining precision manufacturing equipment such as lathes, milling machines, drilling machines, and welding stations. Your day-to-day responsibilities include machine operation, component fabrication, quality checking, assembly work, tool maintenance, and adherence to safety protocols. The role is highly hands-on; you spend most of your time on the shop floor wearing safety equipment (helmet, safety goggles, gloves, safety shoes). You receive guidance from senior operators and supervisors and are expected to learn quickly, follow instructions, and maintain zero-defect output standards. Work may involve standing for extended periods, lifting heavy components (up to 20–30 kg), and operating loud machinery; hence physical fitness is important.

The apprenticeship is structured into formal training modules and on-the-job learning. You attend weekly or monthly classroom sessions where technical theory, safety protocols, quality standards, and trade-specific skills are taught. You document your learning in a logbook and are assessed periodically. The role is non-uniform for apprentices (except safety wear); however, once you transition to permanent employment post-apprenticeship, AVNL provides official uniforms. You report to the Shop Floor Supervisor or Senior Operator and are part of a team of 8–15 apprentices in your trade cohort. Reporting structure is hierarchical: Apprentice → Senior Operator → Supervisor → Assistant Manager (Production).
