This recruitment is open across all medical specialties across Uttar Pradesh medical colleges and institutions. Both Professor and Assistant Professor positions are advertised simultaneously, allowing candidates to apply based on their experience level and career stage. The experience requirement is straightforward: if you have completed 1 year as Senior Resident in your specialty, you qualify for Assistant Professor; if you have 3 years as Associate Professor, you qualify for Professor.

Assistant Professor positions offer competitive in-hand salaries starting around ₹55,000 monthly, rising to ₹1,60,000+ as you progress through the pay scale over ~20 years of service. After 8–10 years as Assistant Professor with merit and publications, promotion to Associate Professor (Level-12) is routine, followed by Professor. The 3-year experience requirement for Professor posts reflects that many candidates will be promoted from within the system. • Incorrect specialty selection: Medical specialties are discipline-specific. Ensure you apply for the exact specialty (e.g., General Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Radiology) for which you hold the postgraduate degree. Applying for a different specialty will result in rejection at document verification.
• Degree certificate mismatch: Your MD/MS/DNB/DM/M.Ch. degree must match the specialty advertised. Certificate names must be exact; for example, "MD (Internal Medicine)" must match the "General Medicine" specialty code in the form.
• Insufficient experience documentation: Senior Resident/Associate Professor experience must be certified by your institution on official letterhead with clear dates (from–to). A single-line confirmation is insufficient; you need a detailed experience certificate mentioning the exact duration in months/years.
• Photo/signature format violations: Passport-size photo must be white background, recent (taken within 6 months), and clear; signature must be in blue ink on white paper, scanned as JPEG. Blurry or coloured background photos cause rejection.
• Fee payment failure not recorded: Ensure your payment transaction succeeds and the receipt is generated. Do NOT submit the form without confirmation of payment; incomplete payment will mark your application as invalid.
• Missing or wrong category certificate number: If applying as SC/ST/OBC, the caste certificate number must match the certificate issued by your state authority. Mismatched or invalid certificate details lead to automatic rejection during verification.

After your application is received and the deadline closes (1 September 2026), UPPSC will announce the schedule for document verification. You will be required to appear with original certificates, experience letters, caste certificate (if applicable), medical fitness certificate, and passport. Document verification typically occurs 3–4 weeks after the last date to apply. Candidates whose documents are found genuine and complete will be included in the final merit list.

Once the merit list is published, candidates are called for joining formalities at the designated medical college. Depending on the post and location, you may be offered posting at your preferred institution or allocated based on merit and availability. The complete process from application submission to joining typically takes 4–6 months. Medical examination and security verification are completed before final posting order. You will receive your appointment letter specifying salary, posting location, reporting date, and joining instructions. Joining is mandatory within the stipulated time; failure to join results in cancellation of appointment.
