• Ineligible qualification institute: BHEL explicitly requires Government-recognised degrees, diplomas, and ITI certificates. The role is primarily desk and workshop-based, requiring software proficiency (CAD, spreadsheets, design tools) and strong problem-solving skills. You report to a Senior Engineer or Project Lead and are expected to contribute to equipment commissioning, performance optimization, and documentation. Graduate Apprentices are often considered for Junior Engineer (JE) roles post-apprenticeship, making this a strategic entry point into BHEL's engineering cadre.

Technician Apprentice: With a 3-year full-time engineering diploma, you occupy a middle technical role. Daily work includes supervising or supporting equipment assembly, conducting routine maintenance checks, performing calibration and testing under engineer guidance, and maintaining technical logs. You interact with both engineering teams and trade workers, translating specifications into practical execution. The role is split between workshop (60%) and office (40%); you may wear a safety uniform and access restricted manufacturing areas. After apprenticeship, Technician Apprentices typically transition to Technician (Grade B or C) positions in BHEL's operations or maintenance teams.

Trade Apprentice: Recruited with ITI certification in trades such as electrician, fitter, machinist, welder, or instrument mechanic, you perform hands-on skilled work.
