BEL ITI Apprentice Recruitment 2026 – Walk in

This apprenticeship is open to candidates who have completed their ITI training in any of the seven notified trades. BEL recruits apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961, meaning you must hold a valid ITI certificate in your chosen trade. The selection is merit-based on your ITI performance and aptitude during the walk-in process.

• COPA & Welder: ₹10,040 per month (stipend during apprenticeship).
• Electronic Mechanic, DMM, Fitter, Turner, Electrician: ₹11,040 per month.
• Duration: Typically 12 months for most ITI trades under the Apprentices Act, 1961.

The monthly amount shown is your apprenticeship stipend, not a permanent salary. BEL pays this as a training allowance during the apprenticeship period. After successful completion, you may be absorbed into BEL's workforce as a regular employee (subject to performance and organisational needs), at which point you move to the standard pay structure for that trade. Career progression depends on your performance, further qualifications, and internal promotions; after 2–3 years as a skilled worker, you may be eligible for supervisory or technician roles.

• Missing ITI Certificate: You must bring the original ITI pass certificate in your chosen trade. Without it, you will not be allowed to sit for the test or interview.
• Wrong Trade Applied For: Ensure your ITI qualification matches the trade you are applying for (e.g., if your ITI is in Fitter, do not walk in for Electrician). Mismatches lead to immediate rejection.
• Incomplete or Illegible Documents: Photocopies must be clear and legible. If your certificate is faded or damaged, get it re-issued by your ITI institution before the walk-in date.
• Missing Attested Copies: Bring two photocopies of your ITI certificate, ideally attested by a notary. BEL may not accept unattested copies for further processing.
• Late Arrival or Wrong Venue: Note the exact venue address and arrive on time. Walk-in slots may close once the daily quota is filled.
• Photo Without White Background: Bring a recent photograph on a plain white background, as coloured or studio backgrounds may not meet BEL standards. Use the image resizer tool if your photo needs adjustment.

Once you clear the walk-in and merit-based selection, BEL will issue a conditional offer letter. You will be required to undergo a pre-joining medical examination conducted by BEL's medical team or an authorised hospital. This typically involves general fitness, vision, and hearing checks. During your apprenticeship period (usually 12 months), you will be posted at one of BEL's manufacturing facilities (Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ghaziabad, or Chennai are common locations) and will work under the supervision of a senior skilled worker or supervisor.

During the apprenticeship, you receive a monthly stipend as stated above and are entitled to provident fund contributions and accident insurance under the Apprentices Act. Upon successful completion and meeting BEL's performance standards, there is a possibility of absorption into the regular workforce as a semi-skilled or skilled worker. The end-to-end timeline from walk-in to joining is typically 2–3 months, and from joining to apprenticeship completion is 12 months. After completion, finalisation of your permanent status takes an additional 1–2 months.

As an ITI Apprentice at BEL, your day-to-day work depends on your trade. For example, an Electronic Mechanic troubleshoots and repairs circuit boards and electronic assemblies; a Fitter assembles precision components and ensures tight tolerances; a Welder joins metal parts using arc or gas welding for structural integrity; a Turner operates lathe machines to shape metal; a DMM (Draughtsman Mechanical) prepares technical drawings and designs; a COPA (Computer Operator and Programming Assistant) manages databases and supports IT operations; and an Electrician maintains power distribution and electrical equipment. All roles are hands-on, mixing field/shop-floor work with some desk documentation.

You will report to a senior skilled worker or supervisor and will be expected to follow BEL's strict safety, quality, and discipline protocols. The role is non-uniform (shop-floor attire), involves public interaction with internal departments, and requires meticulous attention to detail.
