Airport jobs in the government sector are led by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), which owns and operates the majority of India's civilian airports. AAI recruits Junior Executive (in streams like ATC, Electronics, Fire Services, and Information Technology), Manager, and Junior Assistant posts through its own centralised recruitment process — technical streams like ATC and Electronics typically require a valid GATE score or a specific engineering/science degree, while non-technical posts go through AAI's own written exam.

Air Traffic Control (ATC) Officer is the most sought-after AAI post, requiring a B.Sc/B.Tech with Physics and Mathematics or an equivalent technical degree, followed by AAI's selection process and mandatory training at the Civil Aviation Training College before confirmation.
