ISRO Scientist/Engineer SC (via ICRB) is among the most coveted — M.Tech holders in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electronics, CS, Chemical, and related streams are eligible. ISRO's pay at Level 10 (₹56,100 basic) is higher than DRDO's Scientist B entry. Postings across VSSC (rockets, Thiruvananthapuram), ISAC (satellites, Bengaluru), SAC (applications, Ahmedabad), LPSC (propulsion), NRSC (remote sensing, Hyderabad), and other centres. The combination of cutting-edge research work and central government stability makes ISRO one of the top aspirations for M.Tech graduates.
DRDO Scientist B (Level 7, ₹44,900 basic) is directly accessible to M.Tech holders with relevant specialisations. M.Tech graduates in Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, Electronics, Computer Science, Mechanical, Chemical, and even specialised areas like Cryogenics, Acoustics, and Radar Technology can apply for specific DRDO labs — DRDL (missiles), GTRE (gas turbine research), DMRL (materials), LRDE (radar), SAW (electronics warfare), CAIR (AI & robotics), ARDE (armaments).
