DSSSB Recruitment 2026: Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board

The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) is the primary state-level recruiting body for the Government of NCT of Delhi. It fills Group B and Group C posts across the education, health, revenue and municipal departments of Delhi — including Teachers (PRT, TGT, PGT), Junior Engineers, Lower Division Clerks, Patwaris, Pharmacists, Nursing Officers, Assistant Section Officers, and Staff Nurses. Unlike SSC or UPSC, DSSSB postings are confined to Delhi's 11 revenue districts. If you want a government job in Delhi with no transfer risk to another state, DSSSB is the primary route.

DSSSB operates a two-tier selection system for most post codes. Tier 1 (200 questions, 120 minutes) is qualifying only — the score does not contribute to final merit. It has two sections: Section A with 100 marks across General Awareness, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, Hindi and English; and Section B with 100 marks in the subject-specific paper. Minimum qualifying marks apply to both Section B and the combined total. Tier 2 (3 hours) has an objective part and a descriptive part, and the descriptive component is where merit is actually decided. Negative marking is 0.25 per wrong answer in both tiers. Certain posts add a qualifying skill test (typing, stenography) or an interview.

There is no domicile requirement for unreserved posts — any Indian citizen meeting age and qualification criteria can apply. For reserved-category benefits (SC, ST, OBC), DSSSB advertisements have generally required the category certificate to be issued by the Government of NCT of Delhi. Candidates from other states applying under a quota should read the specific advertisement clause carefully before paying the fee. Applications are submitted online at dsssbonline.nic.in. DSSSB does not publish a fixed annual calendar — advertisements appear in batches, typically two to four times a year, each bundling dozens of post codes.
