Application fee is ₹750 for General category, ₹500 for SC/ST/PwD. Age window runs 21 to 40, with the usual +3 years for OBC and +5 for SC/ST. One deadline that's easy to miss: your Bachelor's degree needs to be completed before 7 September, not just underway. If your final-year result is still pending and won't be out before the window closes, you may not be able to apply this round even though you'll technically qualify within weeks. How Selection Works
Four stages, and they don't carry equal weight. The written exam decides most of your final score, roughly 70–80% of it, depending on the post. It runs 2–3 hours and splits three ways: subject knowledge (50%), teaching methodology and pedagogy (30%), and general knowledge (20%). Wrong answers cost you 0.25 marks.
After that comes a skill test, but only for two of the five posts (more on that below). Then document verification, where your degree certificate, 10th/12th marksheets, caste certificate, domicile proof, and character certificate get checked against what you uploaded. Then a medical exam covering vision, hearing, and general fitness. Both of those last two are pass/fail; they don't add points, they just have to clear.
The Skill Test Only Applies to Two Posts
If you're going for Graduate Primary Teacher, Assistant Master, or Primary School Teacher, the written exam is your only real test, no separate skill round. The exceptions:
- Physical Education Teacher. 100m sprint, long jump, high jump, shot put, or gymnastics. Pass/fail, doesn't feed into your merit score.
- Computer Science Teacher. An English typing test, minimum 30 words per minute, also qualifying only.
Where to Put Your Time Between Now and 7 September
No exam date has been announced yet, so treat the next few weeks as your actual prep window rather than sitting around for an admit card. Subject knowledge is worth roughly half the paper, so it deserves half your attention. But don't let pedagogy slide: at 30% of the score, it's the section people under-revise the most, usually because it feels less concrete than subject content. A 30 wpm typing benchmark or a fitness standard takes weeks to build, not the few days you'll have between results and the next stage.
